Ceramic / Sapphire braces

CERAMIC / SAPPHIRE BRACES

Clear braces work the same way as metal braces do. The only difference is that they use clear or tooth colored brackets instead of metal ones. They are a great alternative for patients who want a more esthetic alternative to metal braces but are not confident that they will wear their clear aligners, such as Invisalign, as much as they would need to.
Clear braces are great because they blend in with the natural color of your teeth. They are made of either sapphire or ceramic, not metal, which is more comfortable on your lips and the mucosa lining your cheeks.

Ceramic braces are made of composite materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. They come in varying levels of transparency so you can have ceramic braces that mimic the color of your natural teeth. You can also choose to use a brace wire that can make them much less conspicuous after they’re implanted. Your ties can be made of clear elastic or white metal; the latter is stronger but can lose its coating over time.
Ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.
Sapphire braces are made of translucent sapphire cristal and virtually disappear on your teeth.. The most popular reason that motivates patients to choose sapphire braces falls on the esthetic factor. As compared with metal braces, sapphire ones are transparent because they are made of sapphire crystals, therefore teeth correction is not obvious and people almost do not notice these dental braces.

Sapphire brackets remain transparent throughout the entire treatment due to their microcrystalline structure and uniform surface which prevent plaque accumulation. Due to the fact that it is made of a material with a light texture that does not create discomfort, the Sapphire braces are very easy to wear. Artificial sapphire is completely harmless for teeth and, unlike metal braces, is allergy-free. Braces are the least noticeable on the white teeth, and for those that have a yellowish hue, the best solution would be ceramic or  lingual braces.
